LEAP 1 Comes Home
LEAP 1 celebrated the move to its new premises at St Francis Catholic Church precinct in Langa on Tuesday 11th January 2016. The opening ceremony was attended by parents, students, past students, teachers, central LEAP staff, friends of LEAP and members of the Langa community. Many 2015 matriculants were there and were congratulated on their 100 percent pass rate. 2016 matric students were urged to follow their example but reminded that, while academic skills are important, qualities of the heart as promoted in the LEAP Code of Conduct were even more so.
New LEAP Schools Head, Pieter Steyn, previously Principal of Masibambane High School in Orange Farm, Gauteng (which also achieved a 100% matric pass in 2015) joined LEAP 1 school leaders Lindelwa Mini and Dorothy Tambara and LEAP Founder, John Gilmour, to cut the ribbon.
