Aspiring Teacher’s Summit
The first annual Aspiring Teacher’s Summit was facilitated in August 2014 as part of LEAP’s Future Leaders Program.
The summit invites school leaders and teachers from across South Africa and the United States to lead professional development for students teachers. Instructional leaders from schools in the South Africa Extraordinary Schools Coalition, as well as fellows from the TWA Teacher-Exchange program, provide workshops on teaching strategies and pedagogical understanding. The conference culminates with an activity in which participants plan and execute teaching practices acquired throughout the summit.
The Summit provides a space for teachers to engage in an international exchange of best practices and connect with other educators involved in similar work.
