Passport to your Future
African Rainbow Minerals held a careers day for LEAP 3 students on 4 July 2014. The theme of the day was “Passport to your Future” and the objective was to motivate the students to begin exploring different careers and to teach them that they can be anything they want to be.
Mr Graham Butler, Executive Strategic Initiatives and Services-ARM, gave an inspiring presentation about ARM and presented the many different careers available in mining. Princess Thwala gave a motivational speech about her journey, from humble beginnings to Group Executive: Compliance and Stakeholders Relations at ARM.
The students enjoyed an informative expo with exhibitors from ARM, Mining Qualifications Authority, Gauteng City Region Academy, Department of Minerals Resources, Ekurhleni FET College, Woman in Mining SA and Edu Loan.
The LEAP students truly enjoyed the day and were each given an ARM goody bag, a goody bags from each exhibitor and ended the day with a scrumptious lunch provided by ARM.
Thank your ARM and the other exhibitors for providing our students with this incredible opportunity!
