I am an African
A group of student teachers from LEAP’s Future Leaders Programme were invited by Teach with Africa to go to the USA in January and February 2012 to share the culture and history of South Africa with US schools and education audiences.
The LEAP Future Leaders recorded this adapted version of Thabo Mbeki’s famous speech to South Africa and the continent now famously called I am an African to share at the Teach with Africa gala dinner. Lauded by many as one of the most important speeches of the century, this spoken word video version is full of heartfelt pride and strong personal connection. Listen through the voices of 14 young rising South African leaders.
Thank you to Karen Page for recording and sharing this video. www.pagecrew.com
