Mandela Day final countdown

Mandela Day is almost upon us and LEAP staff and students are working at an electric pace to finalise the details with our partner Canal Walk Shopping Centre.

For 2017 we are again building a fantastic #MandelaMosaic at Canal Walk out of Rhodes Quality food cans. This time Rhodes has donated over 20,000 cans of food to construct a much larger #MandelaMosaic than last year. This means that there will be even more food to distribute to the grassroots organisations that LEAP Science and Maths Schools work with in various Cape Flats communities.

The big event takes place at Canal Walk Shopping Centre on Tuesday, 18 July 2017. To join the volunteer teams building the #MandelaMosaic visit the Canal Walk events page and register for one of the time slots.

Bostik have generously sponsored the stationery items we need for the day. Heart104.9FM will broadcast from the event site keeping their listeners updated, entertaining the volunteers and interviewing some special guests who are joining in the building effort. We had a great time connecting with amazing people at the last #MandelaMosaic, this year the energy and spirit of community promises to be just as inspiring.

We hope to see you there! Follow us on social media and post about the event.
